T-Mobile has launched a budget smartphone in the UK.

Vivacity is T-Mobile’s own brand handset with a 3.5-inch touch-screen, five megapixel camera, 3G+/HDSPA connectivity, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The multi-media device, which is manufactured by ZTE, runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread software. This will allow users to customise their phone with shortcuts, widgets and various apps.

The Vivacity’s 512MB of memory can be boosted by a microSD card to allow users to store up to 32GB of movies, music and photos on their phone.

T-Mobile parent company Everything Everywhere states: “The T-Mobile Vivacity… offers the latest Android software, a large, high resolution touch-screen display and a stunning design – perfect for anyone looking for premium performance and great value for money.”

The design of the handset has been likened to a cross between the iPhone 4 and the Samsung Galaxy S2.

The budget-friendly smartphone, which comes in a choice of black or white, will exclusively be sold in T-Mobile stores.

The Vivacity is available for £100 on pay-as-you-go (PAYG) or free on a 24-month contract for £10 a month.
