The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a voluntary recall of 82,300 dolls in the US and Canada.
The dolls, which are sold by Pottery Barn Kids, have been recalled due to a potential strangulation hazard.
The company has identified that the yarn hair of its Chloe and Sophie dolls could easily fit around a child’s head and neck.
Its Audrey dolls come complete with a headband, which poses a similar safety risk to children.

The dolls were manufactured in China and sold exclusively by Pottery Barn Kids in their stores, catalogues and website for $40 between July 2006 and April 2011.
Pottery Barn Kids and the regulator have advised parents to cut the hair of the Chloe and Sophie dolls and remove Audrey’s headband altogether to eliminate the problem.
Consumers are also advised to contact Pottery Barn Kids directly for instructions on how to return the affected dolls.
