KFC is set to close all three of its outlets on the Pacific island of Fiji.
The fast-food chain’s says it decision comes following a succession of problems with importing the 11 spices needed for its secret flavoured crumb coating.
KFC claims it has been unable to import key ingredients for its secret recipe since last October.
The restaurant chain says that the import problems coupled with rising food prices had made it impossible to make a profit in Fiji.

However, Fiji’s government has disputed KFC’s version of events and accused the firm of exaggerating the row.
Agriculture permanent secretary Colonel Mason Smith has argued that just two cartons of eggs and milk had been delayed because KFC needed to provide documentation.
He believes that the fried-chicken outlet is using this as an excuse for the fact its operation has gone bust.
Elvis Silvestrini, of Fiji's biosecurity authority (BAF), has also claimed that KFC, which has operated in Fiji for 10 years, is using “mischievous tactics”.
"KFC are a global fast-food chain with a very slick public relations machine but at a local level I think their message is becoming a little confused," he reportedly told Radio New Zealand.
