This is the first image of the John Lewis London 2012 shop, which will open as part of their Stratford City department store on 13 September this year.

John Lewis will dedicate 4000 square feet to merchandise for the Olympic Games, making it the largest London 2012 shop to date. Visitors to the shop will have a view of the Olympic Stadium.

The shop will sell around 10,000 official London 2012 products. Big price tag items include a £1,575 22-carat gold commemorative £5 coin and limited edition £650 London 2012 stainless steel playing cards.

A ‘Pin Wall’ will showcase 365 collectable badges—one for each day of the year—priced at £4 each. John Lewis expects the badges to be a favoured purchase by visitors.

Noel Saunders, Managing Director of John Lewis Stratford, said: “It is now just two months to go until John Lewis Stratford opens and we’re proud to currently have the biggest official London 2012 shop outside of the Olympic Park.

“As the London 2012 Games get closer everyone will want to show their support and we expect the official pin badges to be flying off the wall – as many as one badge every three seconds.”

The official mascots for the Games, Wenlock and Mandeville, are also expected to sell well at the Stratford department store. The mascots, which are already best sellers at John Lewis’ Oxford Street branch, will appear in a range of products, from plush toys and canvas bags to figurines and bookmarks.
