Jason Wu has confirmed that he will design a limited-edition collection for US retail giant Target.

The new sixties-inspired range will feature Wu’s signature women’s wear styles in addition to handbags and scarves.

Wu is a highly respected designer in the fashion world and a firm favourite with first lady Michelle Obama.

Target is hoping Wu’s collection is as popular as the chain’s last collaboration with A-List fashion house Missoni.

“The exciting thing about this limited edition collection of affordable women’s wear and accessories is that it allows me to reach a wider audience and bring my designs to people who may not have been able to purchase them before,” Wu told Women’s Wear Daily.

Wu’s new range will hit Target stores across the US in February 2012 and items will be priced at $60 or less.
