A revolver belonging to iconic American mobster Al ‘Scarface’ Capone has sold for £6,7250 at Christie’s auction house in London.
Capone, who ruled the Chicago underworld in the 1920’s, has been immortalised in numerous books and films as the stereotypical mobster.

Many will remember the iconic 1983 Hollywood blockbuster Scarface starring Al Pacino.
The six-shot, double action, Colt.38 was manufactured in May 1929 just months after the notorious gangster ordered the murder of seven of his rivals in the infamous St. Valentine’s Day massacre.
At this time the nickel-plated handgun would have been one of the most reliable and easy to conceal handguns on the market.
The weapon was sold to an anonymous bidder earlier this week alongside a letter dated 1976 from Al Capone’s sister-in-law Madeleine Capone Morichetti, which confirmed the authenticity of the revolver.
This put an end to a wave of speculation from critics regarding the legitimacy of the gun.
