Superdrug has pulled out all the stops recently to try and get ahead of its main rival, Boots. In addition to constantly driving down its prices, Superdrug has recently enlisted Joanna Page from hit TV comedy Gavin and Stacey as the new face of the company.
The beauty retail giant is now taking a risk with a new portfolio of products and services, which include budget anti-wrinkle injections, derma fillers and other cosmetic treatments like teeth whitening, ear piercing, leg thread vein removal and chemical peels.

Superdrug will be the only retailer on the high street to offer these treatments when it launches its new service next week.
The Superdrug beauty clinics will be run by doctors and dentists from established London firm Cosmedoctor.
The Superdrug wrinkle jab will cost £145 for one area of the face, which is less than a third of the amount charged by Harley Street practitioners. Is it going to be a case of you get what you pay for?
Many cosmetic surgeons at some of the top clinics across the country believe this is the case and are skeptical of the new Superdrug treatments.
Dr Michael Prager, who owns a clinic in Wimpole Street, compared it to "going to the barber’s to have your hair cut, instead of a Nicky Clarke hair salon".
However, Superdrug believes that its new products fill a gap in the market by making treatments that are widely considered as luxuries, more accessible and cost friendly.
Only time will tell how successful these treatments are.
