On the back of the bleak economic fortune, Papa John’s International Inc., one of the largest pizza chains in the world, gears up to develop franchisee incentives next year. After kicking off the franchise incentives in 2009, Papa John’s slashed royalties and fees to boost franchisees to launch more stores as a part of their expansion strategy.

This year, the pizza maker has set up a program to encourage franchise growth for next year. The program is called ‘Development Incentive Programme’, under which the outlets shortlisted for the best performance will receive rewards including the Middleby-Marshall ovens that can be purchased for $50 after two years. Plus, the plan has waived $25,000 franchise fee and one year’s royalty for qualifying new franchises.

If the franchises registering for the plan succeed in opening their locations 30 days before their scheduled opening date, they will get a $3,000 credit from Papa John’s.

President speaks

Louisville-based company’s president Jude Thompson said, “Papa John’s continues to be a strong and growing brand, with lots of runway remaining to grow both in the U.S. and throughout the world,”

“With the continued uncertainty of the economic recovery as we head into 2011, we are proud to offer this program to help franchisees bring our “Better Ingredients, Better Pizza” to an increasing number of consumers throughout the US,” added Thompson.

Papa John’s International Food service is renowned for the fresh dough and tasty pizzas; the pizza maker operates 610 outlets across the world with 2,973 franchise units spread worldwide.
