McDonald’s, the snack food chain giant has found a new way to respond to critics, who blamed that McDonald’s products are unhealthy and lack nutrition. Critics had also said that fast-food chains like McDonald’s are causing obesity in children as they are unaware about how many calories they are consuming while binging on McDonald’s foods.
Since then the snack food giant has been introducing ‘healthier food options’ to consumers and its ‘Fresh Garden’ wraps are a part of this business plan.
McDonald’s is trialing its new line of wraps and has announced the same on Twitter. Central Florida press reports have confirmed this news.
The wraps include a grand variety of wraps and are segregated in three key categories, California Chicken, Santa Fe Chicken and Roma Chicken at an initial price of $3.49. The trail testing will be continued till 2011 till the company declares the final roll-out.
The wraps will include ingredients like a piece of grilled or fried chicken breast with shredded cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes and spring mix greens wrapped in a flour tortilla with sauces like BBQ ranch, tomato pesto and creamy ranch. “Enjoy it anywhere grande-size feast on the go”, is the promotion tagline for these wraps.
