L'Oréal has reported that sales at The Body Shop rose 6.2% to reach EUR172 million (USD224.9 million) in the third quarter, although like-for-like sales were down 0.6%. For the first nine months, sales rose 4.3% to EUR506.4 million (USD659.4 million). Retail sales, which include total sales to consumers through all channels and franchisees, rose 2% for the first nine months, but were down 2.4% on a comparable stores basis.

L'Oréal said that The Body Shop brand is performing well in Northern Europe and the Middle East, with continued expansion of its store presence in its New Markets division, which includes India and Russia. Trading in the US, Japan and the UK remains “challenging”. During the third quarter, The Body Shop launched its Rainforest haircare range, the first range to feature the brand's new eco-conscious product symbol.
