Popular online retailer Amazon launched its Appstore today with the highly anticipated Angry Birds Rio.
The store will offer users of Google's Android mobile operating system a host of apps, including an exclusive on Angry Birds Rio. However, this will only be for a short time.
However the day has been overshadowed by the news that Apple will sue Amazon for trademark infringement.

Apple is not happy over Amazon’s choice of the term Appstore and considers it to be too close to the App Store term it uses. Apple has argued that this similarity will confuse and mislead consumers.
Apple trademarked ‘App Store’ in July 2008. Its App Store is a section of Apple’s proprietary iTunes, selling applications, TV shows, games and music for iPhones, iPod touches and iPads.
Apple and Amazon are growing increasingly competitive in e-books, digital music and DVD sales.
With its strong online presence Amazon’s Appstore will be an almost certain hit with customers.
