Total sales at Argos grew by 0.9 percent to 937 million pounds in the 13 weeks ended May 30, with multi-channel sales accounting for 42 percent of total sales. Within this, online Check & Reserve grew by 45 percent, Home Retail said.

Homebase
"Homebase in particular saw its performance in gardening and outdoor products benefit from the excellent weather conditions," said Chief Executive Terry Duddy.
Total sales at Homebase, the UK's second largest home improvement retailer, grew by 5.8 percent to 465 million pounds and were up 3.8 percent on a like-for-like basis.
Home Retail said kitchen sales continued to be strong during the quarter and that sales for the remaining categories overall were only marginally lower than the first quarter last year.
Duddy said that the group "continues to plan cautiously, with our trading focus remaining on driving cash gross margin and achieving further cost efficiencies."
Last week, Kingfisher Plc posted a 3.2 percent rise in like-for-like sales at its B&Q home improvement business over the 13 weeks to May 2, its first increase in two years.
