Tesco has launched a strawberry and clotted cream sandwich in celebration of Wimbledon.
A pot of strawberries and cream is a popular and famous Wimbledon tradition but how well will the quintessential combination work in a sandwich?
The Wimbledon sandwich consists of strawberry jam and clotted cream with a scattering of chopped strawberries between two slices of poppy seed bread.

The novelty sandwich, which comes in special Union Jack packaging to support Andy Murray, is a world-first and follows a string of innovative fillers from Tesco including lasagne flavour.
"We wanted to create an iconic feel-good sandwich treat that evoked a classic feeling of summertime. And no food is as evocative of British summer or puts a smile on people's faces more than strawberries and cream,” said Tesco sandwich developer Kathryn Bettles.
"Our challenge was to make the whole sandwich hold together, but by using clotted cream together with a small dollop of strawberry jam it works very well," she added.
The sandwich is available from Tesco stores across the UK for £1.
