In the midst of a global economic recession more women than ever are purchasing beauty products, according to reports.
High-street retailer Superdrug has revealed a 37 percent rise in nail polish sales in the past year alone.
Nicki Minaj is looking to capitalise on this trend with the launch of a new nail polish collection for OPI next year.

The collection will feature six shades, which are inspired by the wacky musician’s most memorable songs.
These include Metal 4 Life (charcoal silver glitter), Fly (bright aqua), Save Me (rainbow glitter), Did It On Em (neon lime), Super Bass Shatter (purple crackle topcoat) and Pink Friday (pink and glittery shade with blue and yellow tinge).
Nicki Minaj’s new nail polish collection will be released and sold in stores by January 2012.
