Elbow, a band from Manchester, will launch a beer named after their latest and fifth studio album at this year’s Manchester Food and Drink Festival.
Elbow’s website says that the band is “proud supporters of traditional British real ale” and will produce their beer in partnership with local family brewers Robinsons of Stockport.
The cask ale—called ‘Build a Rocket Boys!’— is a golden premium session bitter at 4.0% ABV.
The band’s website states: “The new beer is brewered to Elbow’s own specifications after a series of tastings at the brewery. Band members sampled a range of Robinsons ales to shortlist their preferred style of beer, taste and colour before deciding on a golden ale with a rich rounded body, smooth bitterness, subtle tang of malt and fruity aroma.”
Selected Robinsons pubs will offer the beer throughout September and October. In addition, a limited number will be available at selected free trade outlets nationally, while stocks last.
The band is also targeting the student market: their beverage available at universities in the North West throughout Freshers’ Week.
The Manchester Food and Drink Festival will take place 7-17 October.
