The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention will take place on October 13-16 at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter, Texas.
The convention will have a general session presented by Todd Hale of the Nielsen Company. This will include a panel discussion with manufacturers and retailers from the frozen and refrigerated foods industry
The program, Winning at Value Variety & Convenience with Frozen & Refrigerated Foods, will be held Monday, October 15. The session will begin with an update from Hale on the frozen and refrigerated food department sales trends. He will examine the importance of variety, value and convenience across U.S. consumer segments and for the frozen and refrigerated departments. Hale will also identify how the departments can be aligned against these consumer trends to enable growth for manufacturers and their retailer partners.
Following Hale’s presentation, he will facilitate a panel discussion with industry experts including: Bob Cole, Senior Director of Customer Solutions, Kraft Cheese and Dairy Division; John Larsen, Vice President of Dairy/Refrigerated, Safeway, Inc.; Mark Williams, Frozen Category Manager, Harris Teeter, Inc.; and Karen Madson, Director of Trade Marketing, General Mills.
The panel will address questions from the retailer/manufacturer as well as frozen/refrigerated perspectives such as: How have their companies taken advantage of consumer trends in the areas of aging, ethnicity, convenience and health and wellness? How do retailers remain competitive when more and more channels are stocking frozen and refrigerated foods? What do they consider best in class when it comes to driving refrigerated and frozen food sales success? Ten years from now, what changes do they see for manufacturers/retailers to be successful in selling frozen and refrigerated foods?
