Asda reshuffles management team
The UK's second-largest grocer has promoted Andy Clarke, the company's retail director, to the position of COO.

Additionally, the company has also changed the job titles of group trading director Darren Blackhurst, who is now Chief Merchandising Officer, and Marketing Director Rick Bendel, who becomes Chief Marketing Officer.
This change will bring Asda more in line with Wal-Mart's management structure.
Yesterday, February 17, reported a 7.2 percent leap in like-for-like sales for the fourth quarter. Commenting, Asda Chief Executive Andy Bond said the group had "struck a chord" with shoppers.
He said: "As a result of our price leadership we have continued our momentum and accelerated into 2009."
